The other Portland

I spent a little time in Portland today. What a beautiful city. It's small as far as cities go, but it's teeming with culture, great food, and great sights at every turn.

Still on vacation in my mind...

Somehow I have managed to hold on to the blissful feeling I tapped into during my vacation to New Mexico. This is another picture taken on my sunset hike outside of Taos. It's amazing to think of how the decisions you make can completely change the course of your life. Every day I am amazed, more so than usual these days. It seems that anything is possible... I found this great quote as I was planning for my yoga class: “There is a criterion by which you can judge whether the thoughts you are thinking and the things you are doing are right for you. The criterion is: Have they brought you inner peace? If they have not, there is something wrong with them - so keep seeking! If what you do has brought you inner peace, stay with what you believe is right.” (Peace Pilgrim)

Dude, snow

Yup, it snowed again today. 4 or 5 inches, actually, and still coming down. Paris can't get enough of the snow. I, however, can. This past weekend it was almost in the 60s... and it was heavenly! What a tease mother nature is. Bananarama sang about the "cruel summer"... clearly they never spent the winter in Maine.

More fun with the nephews

Today was a fun day, full of everything a Sunday should be about. A little yoga, catching up with friends, and spending some time with the fam. Here are a couple pics of the 'phews. E's idea of helping with the dishes consists mainly of trying to eat the sponge.

Knitting, the coolest hobby I'll never have

Inside the gorgeous home at this sheep farm was a slew of wool for knitting, a spindle for turning it into yarn, and a full-on loom. It's quite a process. I love wearing hand-knit items and my sister loves making them, so it's a perfect match. I've tried to knit before, but I just don't seem to have the patience for it.
